Ingredients
- 2 cups (480 ml) of almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 1 tsp (5 grams) of turmeric powder
- ½ tsp (2.5 grams) of cinnamon powder
- ¼ tsp (1.25 grams) of ginger powder or 1 tsp (5 grams) of fresh grated ginger
- 1 pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp (5 ml) of vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) of coconut oil or MCT oil (optional)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) of raw honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
Method
- Heat the Milk: Pour the almond milk into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
- Mix the Spices: Add the turmeric, cinnamon, ginger powder or fresh grated ginger, and black pepper to the warm milk. Stir continuously to combine the spices thoroughly.
- Add Vanilla and Oil: Stir in the optional vanilla extract and the optional coconut or MCT oil. Continue to mix until the oil is fully incorporated.
- Sweeten: If using, add the raw honey or maple syrup and stir well until completely dissolved.
- Blend (Optional): For a frothy latte, carefully transfer the mixture to a blender and blend on high for 20-30 seconds until frothy.
- Serve: Pour the golden latte into your favourite mug. Enjoy hot, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
