Golden Latte Recipe

A steaming golden latte in a stylish mug, topped with cinnamon, surrounded by turmeric root, cinnamon sticks, and honey in a cozy kitchen setting.

This golden latte recipe is not only delicious but also packed with anti-inflammatory benefits. Perfect for a cozy morning or as a warm evening drink. Enjoy the vibrant, health-boosting flavors of this golden elixir!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 ml) of almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1 tsp (5 grams) of turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp (2.5 grams) of cinnamon powder
  • ¼ tsp (1.25 grams) of ginger powder or 1 tsp (5 grams) of fresh grated ginger
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) of coconut oil or MCT oil (optional)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) of raw honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Method

  1. Heat the Milk: Pour the almond milk into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  2. Mix the Spices: Add the turmeric, cinnamon, ginger powder or fresh grated ginger, and black pepper to the warm milk. Stir continuously to combine the spices thoroughly.
  3. Add Vanilla and Oil: Stir in the optional vanilla extract and the optional coconut or MCT oil. Continue to mix until the oil is fully incorporated.
  4. Sweeten: If using, add the raw honey or maple syrup and stir well until completely dissolved.
  5. Blend (Optional): For a frothy latte, carefully transfer the mixture to a blender and blend on high for 20-30 seconds until frothy.
  6. Serve: Pour the golden latte into your favourite mug. Enjoy hot, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Notes

  • This recipe serves 2 cups (480 ml).
  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Adjust the sweetness and spice levels to suit your taste preferences.
  • To enhance the bioavailability of turmeric, including black pepper is crucial.
